CARROT Alarm - Talking Alarm Clock App Reviews

Worth a couple of bucks.

I am chronically late to work, as in fear of losing job chronic, but I just cant will myself out of bed. Carrot has solved my problem. But! I hate that I cant turn off the shake to snooze and shake to turn on flash lite options now that Ive unlocked them. Due to the plug situation in my room my phone stays at the foot of my bed instead of a nightstand and shaking is inevitable, making these really annoying "upgrades". The base level version of this app actually worked better for me.

The tasks definitely get you up!

I really like this app already and I just downloaded it. My only problem would be that you have to unlock levels for it to repeat your alarm daily and other things that would be very convenient. Other than that it is very helpful for sure:)

So far is entertaining and effective

Carrot Talking Alarm is one of the best iPhone alarm apps period. Developer quickly replied to me via support email about a planned update which will address some problems: 1st Problem: Carrot Talking alarm does Not Work half of the time. The Carrot Alarm will just send notifications to the lock screen and not talk to you or it will just play sounds without the female voice talking to wake you up. Or, Carrot Alarm will only send notifications to the lock screen and makes no sounds or talking at all ! 2nd Problem: Carrot Talking Alarm goes to 100% on my iPhone speaker. The setting for the volume only works for the minimum setting but does not obey this setting as a maximum volume. So volume starts out at 25% or 50% or 75% (whatever your settings are) then Carrot Alarm will quickly Max Out your volume to 100% and stays at 100% ! and plays with such loud speaker distortion that you can barely understand the words or make out the loud distorted music noise which over time could mess up my iPhone speaker. 3rd Problem: Carrot Alarm has no backup reminder notification capability. If you complete your Tasks then Carrot is done with you and does not care to check up on you to see if you are still awake. Sending a user defined number of Notifications for the customer to interact with is badly needed. If the Customer failed to interact with the preset Notifications (because you fell back asleep) then Carrot Alarm would restart the "Wake & Snooze" alarm option and have you complete another task cycle. For now I am looking forward to the Carrot Alarm update and would recommend this app overall since it is awesome when it works and will be even better when updated. Also asked developer to continue iOS 8 support for the ability to use Carrot on older iPhones that are used as dedicated alarm clocks and music players which stay at home next to the bed. Hope this helps to make a difference for other users or customers wanting an awesome alarm app.

Really good app for a alarm clock with a sense of humor

I bought this app because it looked like it would help but i dont like that it has to be running in the background. I close my apps subconsciously all the time. This morning I didnt wake up. I also would want multiple alarms and alarms during the same day. Unless there already there and I just dont know how to use it. The interface is kind of confusing.

I am not sure how to rate this after soany years so I guess 5 stars simply because it has functioned. I think I would like to remove it now though.

I hate mornings with a seething passion. I dont like to wake up and I dont like to interact with anything or anyone before 10 am. However, in using Carrot for the last week, Im not only awake, but chuckling away, almost cheerful. Ive used snooze just the once, and was equally amused at it. The one caveat: if you dont remember to leave it open as you go to bed, it doesnt go off and your left with quite amusing notifications, but no alarm. Set a backup alarm, or get to the point that it reminds you to leave it open and running. Very helpful, that. When I can leave it running in the background, I will most certainly change my review to 5 stars.

Im a pretty heavy sleeper. This app will wake you up. TURST ME

First off an alarm app which doesnt go off while silent is stupid. If iOS doesnt allow that then dont make alarm apps. TTS voice is also bad with broken words and voice of a 80-year-old who has got a cold. Finally thanks to stupid ui which makes it a puzzle to set the alarm I almost overslept today. I hated iphones default alarm but this app made me fall in love with it.

I just downloaded the entire bundle & its awesome! I laugh even harder with each app & ive already completed some tasks that Ive been putting off forever! I also just did a 7-minute workout! Absolutely hilarious! Great buy :D

Bought app to seriously wake up in the morning and stop snoozing, and even though "working with the silence switch" is listed as a feature, it simply failed to work. Terrible first impression; will try again without switch and revisit this review. UPDATE: failed to work once again, do not recommend.

I bought this app and love the idea and when it works. I would have a back up alarm set just in case. The few things I want to see fixed are the alarm not going off and making the alarm louder. Its an alarm app, it should be loud enough to wake someone up. Great idea just needs a few improvements.

Finally I get up and actually hear my alarm. I have tried almost everything but I sleep through it. This is the first time i hear and realize that it is time to get up and start my day.

Wanted to like this app, but I just cant. Worse alternative than the stock alarm app.
